TOPICS – CONFERENCE ENERGY AND CLIMATE, October 18-19
The growing demand for energy, despite limited fossile fuel reserves and growing environmental concerns, is a major challenge of the 21st century and encompasses numerous threats and opportunities. To achieve sustainable development, the origin and the usage of energy have to be addressed by all segments of the society, and by engineers in particular. Advanced energy technologies for both fossile and renewable energy carriers have to be developed, requiring significant progress in reasearch and technology. This congress will address the following broad topics:
- Engineering solutions for climate change mitigation
- European Union regulations in the field of energy and environmental engineering as well as their application and tasks awaiting Croatia
- International and national incentives for low-carbon future
- Innovation and technology of renewable energy sources (hydropower, solar energy, wind energy, energy from biomass and wastes) as well as their contribution to sustainable development
- Obstacles to the introduction of environmentally friendly technologies
- Energy efficiency and cogeneration in industry and buildings.
TOPICS – HEAT-SET SYMPOSIUM, October 20-22
